Many EA orgs probably do this kind of analysis to determine which audiences they aim to reach with their own work; CEA and 80K are two examples. While I’m not aware of any published work that goes into ITN analysis on particular audiences, you can probably infer what organizations believe about who to recruit by observing their behavior.
(That said, it would be nice if more explicit analyses were available!)
Thanks. I agree that specific organisations must be doing some of their own outreach analysis. I do wonder if it would be helpful for someone to investigate whether there are any groups that EA as a whole needs to do more to reach out to. The analysis may not throw up anything revolutionary but it could still be worth doing to see. I may try something myself at some point.
I heard in mid-2019 that Open Phil was interviewing EAs to identify common characteristics / background among people are most receptive to EA. I don’t think it was published though.
