“Hey climate activists, I think you’re wrong to focus on climate, and I think you should focus on the risk from technology instead. I reckon you just need to think harder, and because you haven’t thought hard enough, you’re coming to the wrong conclusions. But if you just listen to me and think a bit better than you have done, you’ll realise that I’m right.”
If the pitch has this tone, even if it’s much less blatant than this, I fear that your targets might pick up on it and find it offputting.
