The Humane Slaughter Association (HSA) is a British nonprofit that supports research, development and training to improve the welfare of farmed animals during transportation and slaughter.

Evaluation

HSA is one of the two organizations with a focus on animal welfare recommended by Raising for Effective Giving.[1] It is also one of the two organizations within this cause area recommended by Brian Tomasik.[2]

As of July 2022, HSA has received over $3.5 million in funding from Open Philanthropy.[3]
