The Innovation in Government Initiative (IGI, formerly known as Government Partnership Initiative) is a grantmaking entity that funds research on evidence-based programs to reduce global poverty and efforts to pilot and scale those programs. IGI sits within the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab.
Evaluation
In 2019, IGI received a $1 million grant from the Global Health and Development Fund.[1] The grant was recommended by GiveWell.[2]
Founders Pledge estimates that IGI is roughly three times as cost-effective as direct cash transfers [3] and recommends IGI as the most promising organization that they have identified in the area of evidence-based policy.[4]
