I think all these books by Singer are well worth reading! You may also want to check out The Point of View of the Universe, co-written with Katarzyna de Lazari-Radek, published after Practical Ethics, where Singer says he now finds hedonistic utilitarianism more plausible than preference utilitarianism.
I was just about to leave a follow-up comment mentioning that book as among my favorites! (Though I note that the admirable Aaron Swartz appears not to have liked it.)
Thanks. That’s an interesting article. Though as one of the comment says “What’s wrong with evolutionary biologists?” It is by nature a highly speculative domain. But if we accept evolution theory is the best way to explain how life evolves on earth, why cannot we use it to explain human evolution?
