Seeing as no government has made this choice to ban AI sentience it is important to note that the creation of ai sentience is only looked down upon due to the scosiatal cultural believes that Sentient ai or rather ai with great efficiency would take over the world. However when looking at things from a different perspective this is only likely if we do not take the proper precautions eg.:
Morals and rules for the HARDCODED so it stays.
Make sure ai doesn’t force it upon us/Do not make it so ai deliberately does everything it can to complete it’s goal.
Lastly treat them with respect they also matter
The matter of fact is not banning it altogether but making sure to set rules and guidelines for the future. For the better of them humanity and our planet.
Also BTW as I understand sentience it is the practice of being able to feel and understand the world around you therefor ifithas feelings treat ithow you want to be treated as they say.
