We’re hiring 5-6 Program Associates to provide critical project management support for GiveWell’s research team, helping direct hundreds of millions of dollars to highly cost-effective global health programs.
As a Program Associate, you will:
Manage complex research and grantmaking workflows across multiple concurrent projects
Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including grantees and partner organizations
Maintain and optimize project management systems, tools, and tracking mechanisms
Proactively identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements
Ensure precision and reliability in data, documents, and processes
Handle straightforward issues independently while flagging complex challenges early
We’re seeking organized, detail-oriented professionals with 2-5 years of project management or operational support experience. The ideal candidate thrives in high-volume, fast-paced environments and is genuinely energized by operational excellence rather than viewing PM as a stepping stone to other roles.
Important requirements:
Must have at least 3-hour overlap with Pacific Time Zone
We cannot sponsor visas for this role
This is a dedicated project management role, not a pathway into research
Details:
Remote-friendly (US, UK, Canada with work authorization)
$108,800 (NYC/SF Bay Area) | $98,600 (all other US locations)
Fully funded health coverage, 4 weeks PTO, 16 weeks parental leave, stipends for wellness and professional development
Quarterly retreats and occasional international site visits
The application process includes work trials that simulate actual Program Associate tasks. Please share with anyone who might be a great fit!
