The researchers conclude that because “the time dilation, slowing down of perceived flicker frequency and the increase in letter-detection rate all occurs at the same action preparatory period, we believe that these effects are related to each other” (Hagura et al. 2012: 4405). More experiments of this type could potentially shed light on the relationship between CFF and the subjective experience of time.[40]
I’d be interested in knowing if other senses (sound, especially) are processed faster at the same time. It could be that for a reaching movement, our attention is focused primarily visually, and we only process vision faster. On the other hand, I guess CCF tasks all require attention, so maybe this can’t explain it?
