What is happening?

Join us for the second Tech x FAW group discussion! This month, we will be discussing reducing keel bone damage in laying hens.

The topic

Keel bone injuries are very common for hens in cage-free environments. While estimates vary, it seems likely that over 50% of hens in these environments are affected. Injury rates seem to be responsive to the design/layout of the environment, nutrition, and management/rearing. This topic has been studied extensively, yet remains a huge issue. Let’s take some time to consolidate information about the state of current efforts, identify bottlenecks, and share ideas.

Should I prepare anything?

Join the discussion for this event over the Impact Forge. This is where we will crowdsource any cool resources we come across! If you can, spend a little time reading up on this topic ahead of time.

The Impact Forge is the new forum of the High Impact Engineers community. Check it out!

Who should come?

Anyone who is interested in the discussion is welcome, including technical and non-technical people.
