I think this is more an introduction to effective giving than effective altruism generally. I think it would make more sense to frame it that way, especially because effective giving can be a good lead-in to effective altruism.
I also find the inclusion of “AI Governance” while excluding “animal welfare/ending factory farming” in the list of important causes as a bit strange, especially for general audience, with whom factory farming might be more legible.
This was more targeted towards my family since I wanted to explain to them both how I envision my future career aswell as how they can help improving the world.
I also know that they do not care about factory farming whatsoever so including it seemed useless.
