I suppose I am a bit disappointed that no-one from GiveWell or Open Philanthropy has responded to Lant’s arguments. When I mentioned the upvotes mine and Hauke’s post got, I wasn’t trying to blow my own horn (much as I like doing that), I was just trying to say that there is at least a case to answer. But two years on, no-one has engaged with the post. A lot is at stake here—I think we’re leaving an awful lot of value on the table.
