I’ve not looked into this much [1], but my guess is that a bunch of religious leaders have in fact thought pretty long term and quite deeply about what matters and what kinds of guidance humanity most needs (e.g. Saint Paul).
Even more speculative: perhaps one of the main weaknesses of most contemporary religious leaders is not knowing much about Bostromian / FHI-ish stuff on technology.

Mainly just watched The Young Pope which is outstanding and many people should try, especially season 2 but don’t skip season 1.
