Facilitate global cooperation via economic relationships and shared ownership
Values and Reflective Processes
We live in an economically connected world that is characterized by mutually beneficial trades. On top of that, countries are generally heavily invested in diverse financial securities of other countries. This way, economic progress in one country is generally to the benefit of the whole international community. Consequently there are strong incentives for peaceful coexistence, internalization of problems that are affected by tragedies of the commons, and a general atmosphere of multilateral cooperation and understanding.
Downsides of this co-dependency are increased relative costs of sanctioning countries that violate international codes of conduct, and accelerated distribution of technological innovations that possibly will pose risks when not handled with care and strong coordination. While being conscious of those downsides, we tentatively think that projects which facilitate a global cooperative atmosphere between major actors have the potential to unlock considerable abilities to solve the most pressing problems going forward. Concrete projects may aim at emphasizing the economic positive-sum situation humanity is facing, research and facilitate current international cooperation around global issues such as climate change, and facilitating financial interdependence.
