I feel like there’s some fairly low-hanging fruit in American politics in the sense that it’s quite difficult to find fairly short, evidence-based, unbiased overviews of controversial political issues.
It makes sense that people are not able to agree on policy options (as a result of differing values), but they should at least be able to agree on the facts of the situation. However, that does not seem to be happening in the status quo, and this seems to significantly degrade the quality of discussion.
To test the above hypothesis, I started a blog (https://www.justconvos.net/) where I attempt to do the above. I’d appreciate any feedback that my fellow EAs might have on the blog itself or my broader reasoning.
