This is fairly basic, but EA community building is definitely another cause I’d add to that list. I’m less confident in other potential areas, but I would also be curious about exploring some aspects of improving institutional decision-making as well.
The decision to open a hiring round is usually made at the level of individual focus areas and sub-teams, and we don’t have an organization-wide growth plan, so it’s fairly difficult to estimate exact numbers; with that said, I expect we’ll be doing some hiring of both generalists and program specialists over the next few years.
