Great post! The key idea is fun, ethical, and effective. My drive to do good stems in part from perfectionism, which can make the “competition” framing very demotivating. The “team effort” framing is fun and motivating. It also provides an emotional safety net should things go awry. The best portfolio of EA activity likely includes projects with a chance of failure. We should support our teammates who take sensible risks, especially when their efforts fail!
