Most people didn’t expect the Jacob Coxon tweet to get this level of reach, since there have been plenty of public statements about x-risk by lab insiders before. But somehow, his tweet met the moment more than anything else. I think the same can be true for explainers. Even if Kelsey Piper wrote a better version in 2019, or there’s already a 2011 Yudkowsky post explaining the same thing, a 2026 version adapted to the current situation might be what’s needed to reach and move people.
