And maybe CE has private information on the talent pool, but I suspect that selection bias is a bit harder to overcome than just surveying people, and lots of people wouldn’t give the program a second look, let alone communicating their salary dissatisfaction to CE.
Even if only 1⁄3 of founders go on to be stellar, the quoted range seems like less than 1⁄3 of the social optimum for a stellar founder!
