I think all of the meta charity ideas are great, especially the first one. Exploratory altruism would address a problem that I have: 80,000 Hours now lists 17 problems that could be as valuable to work on as the top problems that they’ve fully evaluated. I share much of their worldview, so I am very confused about which of these would be the best for me to work on. It would be very helpful if I had a way to compare these problems, especially tentative answers to these questions:
How do these problems compare to the current top problems in terms of scale, neglectedness, and solvability?
