One other potential cause of the decline in life satisfaction during adolescence could be a decrease in satisfaction with family relationship. Angsty teens fight with their parents. Parents don’t want kids to exercise their newfound freedom. It’s a time of change, both biologically and in ways of living, and it seems to not go so well.
