I’m not sure they would call it “recruiting”, but there already are large parts of existing nonprofits that talk to current & future ultra high net worth individuals, such as Longview Philanthropy, Founders Pledge, Generation Pledge, and Open Philanthropy. But there are only a very limited number of potentially sympathetic ultra high net worth individuals, and you don’t want to put them off effective giving, so it’s important to do it right. As such, I definitely would not suggest starting a new crack team to try to do this work. Instead, it’s better to talk to the existing groups that cater to UHNWIs, first.
