Global covid-19 vaccine equity seems to be a frequent talking point in terms of highlighting disparities between the developed and developing world. (It was even mentioned in the last TLYCS newsletter.) It’s also super easy to see how increasing global vaccinations could have huge ramifications—not only preventing lots of deaths and suffering in countries currently affected by covid-19 but also lessening the chance of a new variant emerging. But...who is working on this and does anyone have any giving recommendations in this vein? Is it worth donating to Gavi/COVAX, even though it seems like that initiative has not been very successful? What about orgs engaging in lobbying campaigns like PHR? Are the systemic issues (distribution challenges, etc.) at play here too much of a barrier or are there actions I can take as an individual? Educate me, please!!
