The LTFF chair at least hasn’t stepped down yet! Asya is leaving in October, IIRC, and by then we hope to have found a new chair.
I can’t comment much on the EAIF. It does seem kind of bad that they didn’t find a replacement chair before the current one resigned, but I don’t know the details.
We are hoping to publish some more posts about the EAIF soon; this is just an AMA for the LTFF. I am currently acting as the interim EAIF chair.
I am trying to work out what the strategy of the EAIF be over the next few months. It’s plausible to me that we’ll want to make substantive changes, in part due FTX and shifts in resources between cause areas. Before we hire a chair (or potentially as part of hiring a chair) I am planning to spend some time thinking about this, whilst keeping the EAIF moving with its current strategy.
