I would advise consistently saying “humans that don’t exist yet” rather than “humans that don’t exist”, otherwise the distinction becomes completely absurd for humans who are not already familiar with the distinction.
Read this through the eyes of a newcomling:
“First, take the position that people who don’t exist have less moral weight.”
Of course beings that don’t exist have no moral weight! The question is just whether a being’s location in time matters for its moral importance. Change it to “exist yet” and the newcomling too will understand the difference being talked about here.
