I appreciate reading and talking about crazy-ish global poverty ideas. Would be great to talk to you more about the second one and others like it, but I don’t have 10 karma yet. There’s a good bit of evidence supporting impact of behavioral interventions in extreme poverty alleviation, especially when combined with other interventions like graduation programs and cash transfers. Perhaps one element of this is the reduction of cognitive load by defining a clear path forward. Cognitive load and the “hope trap” are known issues encumbering people living in extreme poverty.
