I’m a senior undergrad this year and this is the first semester I have deliberately taken fewer classes and focussed on things I find more important/interesting (mostly EA organizing). Best decision I’ve made in a while, and I’m getting much more out of my college experience now than before.
In regard to caveat 3 and people who benefit from structure/oversight, I would suggest the following:
Participate in or facilitate fellowships/reading groups for EA if EA is something you want to do. Having other people depend on you or expect things from you can be really motivating.
