Hi EA from a developing country here. I agree that nationals are the best persons to engage in politics in their own communities. However the exclusive and calculated nature of EAs is a mismatch with the broad nature of politics and a spontaneity of the average voter.

I think this is probably true to a large extent, but not all roles in politics are public facing ones.
True, though I think the behind the scenes approach has its limits too. Policy still needs to be sold and implemented by people who face the public.
Even if EAs stay in wonky roles, someone eventually has to translate those ideas into something voters actually care about.
