[Question] How do you promote EA during non-EA events?
Hello everyone,
as a member of Polish EA chapter I am researching opportunities for promoting EA during various non-EA events such as music festivals, science conferences, economic and technological trade shows and so on. Examples of how the promotion could work are: setting up a stand/booth, giving a keynote speech etc. This approach seems like it could nicely complement the more usual approach of organising university groups, local groups, EAGx’s, retreats etc. I am looking for information on:
1. Which types of events are particularly well suited to promote EA among the attendants?
2. Does anyone in EA community have experience of doing this kind of promotion? What are the do’s and don’ts? (one thing to keep in mind for example, is keeping the fidelity high: https://www.centreforeffectivealtruism.org/blog/the-fidelity-model-of-spreading-ideas)
So far, useful resources I’ve found are:
- https://handbook.globalchallengesproject.org/packaged-programs/activities-fair-guide-and-resources—
https://resources.eagroups.org/home (has some general event advice, although more relevant to events organized by EA groups themselves)
