In “For-profit investing typically does not have massive negative returns, but non-profit investing can”, I understand this to only be true in the sense that for-profit investing is only concerned with financial returns, whereas non-profit investing is concerned with returns of all kinds.
For-profit investing can still have negative externalities, of course, it’s just that the shareholders aren’t really obliged to care about them :)
