Alex will briefly share his experience switching from international development (GIZ) to working with EU policymakers on alternative protein policy. He will also give insight in GFI’s strategy and past successes such as building the coalition that succeeded in rejecting the proposed veggie burger ban.

Bio
Alex is a Senior Policy Manager at GFI Europe, an international nonprofit organisation helping to build a more sustainable, secure and ethical food system by transforming meat production. He works with EU policymakers to advance plant-based and cultivated meat, eggs, dairy, and seafood. Prior to joining GFI, Alex volunteered for several animal advocacy groups and worked at GIZ, the German development agency, on international development and climate change.
