Announcing Li Wenliang Prize for forecasting the COVID-19 outbreak
The forecasting platform Metaculus is launching the Li Wenliang Prize for contributions to the forecasting of the COVID-19 outbreak. The prize series combines a forecasting tournament on COVID-19-related questions with awards for contributions in the form of standout public predictions, models, factorisations and the writing of well-operationalised COVID-19-related questions.
The forecasting tournament will run from February 17th till May 17th, which will award prizes to users earning the highest number of points for their predictions. Contributions in the form of comments and COVID-19-related questions written from February 17th till March 2nd will be eligible for rewards.
In all, a total of $950 in prizes in the form of Amazon gift cards will be awarded. For further details on how these prizes will be allocated, see the link above.
