Reflection: Four Years of Collecting Recommendations

For the past four years, I have been taking a simple notebook with me everywhere I go. Whenever I meet someone new, or spend an extended period with a friend, I ask them to write me several recommendations.

My notebooks now contain thousands of recommendations, from hundreds of people.

Some people recommend novels, films, or cafes. Some people give life advice, or celebrate their favourite online spaces.

EA has been a big part of my life since 2018, and many of the recommendations were collected at EA events, and EA offices. This project also acts as a record of my experience with this strange and wonderful community.
