What should we do to help Afghanistan: A brief summary

The world is focused on Afghan now and everyone feels sympathetic for its people. Here is some information I collected. Due to the constrained time, the summary is really rough, but I hope it can open up the discussion about what’s the best approach.

Charity ratings: Charity watch groups name us as a top-rated children’s charity among other children’s charities and non-profit organizations. Included among these charity rankings are a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, an A rating from GenderFair and an A- rating from CharityWatch.

2. International Rescue Committee (IRC)

The IRC does not have effective policy in BBB Wise Giving Alliance’s accountability standards.

Real project: Cash Transfer have a wide range of cost efficiency, from a minimum of 14 cents for every dollar transferred up to $1.32 for every dollar transferred. For your reference, a very cost-effective NGO, GiveDirectly, transfer1 dollar at the cost of about 20 cents(17/​83) according to Givewell.
