Introducing ‘Animal Law Focus Foundation’

I’m happy to share here with you all the official launch of Animal Law Focus Foundation, a new international organisation dedicated to researching regulations regarding the protection of farm animals to develop targeted actions and strategies to close regulatory gaps, improve enforcement, and correct non-compliant practices in the farming industry.

For many years, I have worked in the defence of animals—not only in the area of animal law- and I have realised how necessary it is to have a clear and specific focus on how you want to change the world for them. I am of the idea that they do have a voice, only that it is not heard or understood many times by humans, so part of what led me to create Animal Law Focus was the vision of using the tools I have and put them at the service of creating a world where our society and the law recognizes them as subjects of legal protection, valuable for themselves and not for the purposes they may have under the exploitation of which they are victims.

Our mission in Animal Law Focus is to reform the legal framework and increase enforcement through research and effective actions. We envision a world where animal law and rights are integral to global policy-making and legislation that ensure strong protection for animals and foster a culture of justice and empathy across governments and societies.

To pursue this, we have opened several volunteer positions, that you can check on this link.

Our first project will take place in Chile and targets the slaughterhouses and companies that breed and transport farm animals in that country. These companies are responsible for the last hours of life and dignity of farm animals and for multiple infractions of animal welfare regulations. Our work focuses on the analysis of these regulations and the infringing behaviour of the companies involved, in order to determine the most effective possible actions for intervention to increase animal protection, through an animal law focus.

We have been granted a seed grant from The Pollination Project Foundation to start this promising project, and invite you today to visit our brand new website www.animallawfocus.org to learn more about us and make a donation by clicking on this link, that will allow us to advance our work for animals.

Thank you for reading. Looking forward to talk more about this project with anyone who’s interested!
