In­ter­per­sonal com­par­i­sons of wellbeing

Interpersonal comparisons of wellbeing (also called interpersonal comparisons of utility) are comparisons involving the welfare levels of different people. Such comparisons are often presupposed in evaluations of social outcomes and in explanations of human behavior.
