Hello, I go by Ayya (she/they)!
I am a communication designer passionate about human-centric design based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. I see design as an intrinsic human tool, as a way to navigate the world and connect people to ideas. I completed a Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication) followed by a Bachelor of Art and Design (Honours) at University of South Australia in 2017. I wrote my honours thesis on design ethics, and since then I’ve been compelled to create more positive impact with my life.
Since graduating, I have worked as a researcher in a research center focused on the impacts of living in a digital society, as a brand specialist in an edutech startup focused on improving Indonesia’s digital transformation through providing scholarships for those in need, and as a program coordinator and project manager for a design organization focused on the preserving the history of graphic design in Indonesia.
I am currently looking to pivot towards a high-impact career, so I am open to any opportunities. I hope to build on my generalist and specialist skills into a science communications and/or operations role. I am also a volunteer for the official Indonesian EA chapter, where I help create content and direct their social media to reach a wider audience and have a more established online presence.
So excited for this conference, I hope we have created exciting and inspiring content for attendees from Asia and beyond!
