So someone with a masters in English literature working as a translator is more skilled than someone with a bachelor’s in economics working at McKinsey? Definition is still not clear.

Can you provide examples of material change brought on by EA India community in the last 5 years?
You have not defined what skilled & unskilled labour means. Is a management consultant more or less skilled than a plumber?
”Skilled workers earn more than unskilled workers, with the “skill premium” determined by the global supply of unskilled labor vs skilled labor.” This assumption is clearly false. There is a human element that goes beyond market economics when people choose professions. The fact that there exists such a huge labour gap in healthcare, teaching, etc shows that market dynamics are not functional.
From this statement “It’s still early days, but the signs are that AI will impact the world of bits before the world of atoms” it seems you’re equating a knowledge worker with a skilled worker, this is obviously a bias in your assumptions.
Can you do this same analysis for Top10% wealthy individuals versus remaining 90%, globally, and share the analysis of how income inequality trends through AI infra renting? Geographical boundaries are irrelevant today especially for how capital flows.
I opened this quiz and the first questions it poses has this phrase—“every single one of them has a better life”
What does better life even mean here? On what metrics? Are they wealthier? Are they healthier? Has mental illness rates gone down? Are they more happy or content? The question is meaningless without context.
yes absolutely. Your article tries to model how wealth distribution changes with AI for skilled and unskilled workers. If we can’t define those groups, how can we calculate the flow of capital?
