An open question for me (for EA Israel? For EA?) is whether we can talk about economic-politics publicly in our group.
For example, can we discuss openly that “regulating prices is bad”. This is considered an open political debate in Israel, politicians keep wanting to regulate prices (and sometimes they do, and then all the obvious things happen)
I mean I’d like to chat about that, and maybe happy to on this shortform? But I wouldn’t write a post on it. I guess it doesn’t seem that neglected to me.
In Israel, it is controversial to suggest not regulating prices, or to suggest lowering import taxes, or similar things. I could say a lot about this, but my points are:
I remember I was really jealous of the U.S when Biden suggested some very expensive program (UBI? Some free-medical-care reform?), but he SHOWED where the money is supposed to come from, there was a chart!
