We’re growing as a company and are looking to hire someone to work on our portfolio of Government projects. Here’s more about the role:
Data Journalist, Government Projects
As part of our methodology of delivering a crowdsourced forecasting capability to organizations, we develop and post forecast questions to a large crowd of participants, aggregate their forecasts, and provide outputs to decision makers on an ongoing basis. This includes:
Research and development of forecastable content (such as forecast questions) relevant to stakeholders;
Management of the content on all platforms; and
Development of reports and presentation of outputs to stakeholders to support decision making and analysis.
As a Data Journalist on this team, you would primarily be involved in the last step of this process, where we will be compiling reports, materials, and visualizations on an ongoing basis to enable consumers to utilize the outputs of our platform for decision making and analysis.
As a Data Journalist on our team, your primary responsibilities will be to:
Assist in the development and execution of a reporting strategy for stakeholders, such as quarterly, monthly, and ad-hoc reporting capabilities.
Develop analyses, narrative assessments, data visualizations, and supporting material to generate forecast-centered reports and outputs.
Curate content to determine most effective information to develop and present in various report types.
Facilitate sharing of generated reports to relevant end users (i.e. posting to website, emailing, etc.).
Design custom visualizations to be used as outputs for consumers, to “tell the story” of forecasts, user activity, and commentary.
Develop periodic blog posts about relevant, data-focused topics.
Additional responsibilities would include:
Work closely with the project team to develop and manage project plans that adhere to scope, timelines, and budget.
Work with research analysts to write questions and develop content for forecasting platforms.
Current or former government employees or contractors who have active or recently expired U.S. Government security clearances are encouraged to apply.
