Good intro for PRO (Project Resource Optimization), a group spun up in the post-USAID moment by two former development economists.
PRO is backfilling certain programs that cross a pretty demanding bar; they’re familiar w/ GiveWell and the EA space and their evaluation framework would be familiar here.
Not sure how to compare their effectiveness to GiveWell’s All Grants; or to other bridge funds. Anyone done any research or have any thoughts here?
(One small detail—the speaker (Rob Rosenbaum)’s role at USAID was funded by OpenPhilanthropy. I’d love to understand how that worked!)
