My mind is blown by what’s going on right now and we definitelyneed to change.
At the same time, I can’t help but think, there are only like, roughly guessing 70-90 people in CEA? And there’s like 10k-15k in the community? Correct me if I’m wrong.
*(Added this part to clarify that I am not saying how we should ask CEA to function at all. This shortform is to ask around so I can sort out my own rationality)
In my head, there are questions like: 1. How are CEA going to implement all of the changes we need? 2. Even if they did, will they have the time and experience to do it right? 3. At this point, do we really want CEA to do this? 4. Should CEA even do this? 5. Would we prefer a separate org/service that prevents these and work closely with CEA instead? Minimize conflict of interests? 6. Community health, a more thorough case as a cause area to help the longevity of the community/movement? 7. Am I just super biased hence why I think this? 8. Should I post this as a question instead? (I’m afraid I’ll be taking away attention or look like I’m collecting karma)
I feel like I don’t want to put so much of what we want to change on CEA. Or even the leaders/seniors/core, whatever you call it. I feel like it’s better if even more experienced experts/orgs/services/consultants lead the changes we need instead (I don’t know if there’s a suitable one though). At the same time, I feel like I’m just biased. I don’t want to continue feeling like I’m gaslighting myself from both sides so I would highly appreciate it if you gave more concrete reasons for/against/something else entirely. Thank you.
I’ve been beating the drum that certain functions need to be operationally, legally, and financially independent of major orgs for a few months now. Never have gotten much traction or engagement with the idea, but maybe recent events would change that?
To make it easier for people to give their takes, I’ll list the questions here in the comments so if you have no time, you can just vote to agree or disagree and that would already greatly help me. Thank you to everyone who has voted so far.
(I removed this from my previous shortform so I can know if people were disagreeing on this part or not and if I needed to change how to express this)
At the same time, I want to express as well that I’m so sorry for everyone who experienced sexual harassment. I hope you don’t blame yourself. It’s us the community who needs to do better. And thank you to everyone who courageously spoke out. Your action is a significant part of making our community safer for everyone.
Public Service instead of Charities because not all Public Service is a Charity and not all Charities are Public Service.
ATP, Adenosine Triphosphate, is present in all humans and all forms of life. It is a key part in every thought, change, growth of all beings now, and in the future.
ATP, Advocate for Top Public Service, can be present in all works for humanity for all forms of life. It can be a key part in every thought, change and growth of all beings now. and in the future.
I drafted/privated my shortform about asking for people’s input about the perspectives I had with the current issues on my own because I need to take a break from the forum and focus on the real impactful work I’m doing. Plus, counterfactually, there’s an 80% chance someone else will post something similar and better written anyway.
Sanity check? Help please, thank you.
