If 100% of these suggestions were implemented I would expect in 5 years’ time EA to look significantly worse (less effective, helping less people/animals and possibly having more FTX type scandals).
If the best 10% were implemented I could imagine that being an improvement.
I like this comment and I think this is the best way to be reading EA criticisms—essentially steelmanning as you read and not rejecting the whole critique because parts seem wrong.
Especially because bad-faith actors in EA have a documented history of spending large amounts of time and effort posing as good-faith actors, including heavy use of anonymous sockpuppet accounts.
