Is EA community building work considered separately, or included in ācreating a better futureā?
It depends. If such work were funded by the Long-term Future Fund, it would be included in ācreating a better futureā. If it were funded by Centre for Effective Altruism, or the EA Infrastructure Fund, it would be included in āmultiple cause areasā.
I think it would follow from this and your radical uncertainty with regard to non long term interventions that you would want to include these donations as positively impactful.
I accounted for donations going to the area of ācreating a better futureā which were tagged as āmultiple cause areasā. GWWC tagged 11 % going to creating a better future, but I assumed 13.3 % (= 11/ā(65 + 7 + 11) = ātagged as creating a better futureā/ā(ātagged as improving human welfareā + ātagged as improving animal welfareā + ātagged as creating a better futureā)) went to creating a better future. This may not be accurate if the donations going to āmultiple cause areasā are disproportionally going to ācreating a better futureā, so I take the point that it would be better to explicitly analyse where the donations in the bucket of āmultiple cause areasā are going to.
