Great post, thanks for sharing it! I also like that 80k seem to be posting on the forum a bit more often lately—seems like a great way to spark discussion, solicit input, etc., with everyone else able to directly see and learn from that discussion and input as well.
And I liked that this post outlined the methodology that was used (in the “We compiled this list by asking 6 advisers...” paragraph). I feel like my relationship with 80k has typically been something like “black box hums for a while, then spits out deep wisdom, and I quit my teaching job and move to the UK to do what it says.” This isn’t a criticism—I know 80k doesn’t want me to simply “do what it says”, and actually I’m very grateful for the wisdom the black box spat out. But it’s also nice to get an extra peek inside sometimes :)
EDIT: On reflection, I think I usually feel I have a good understanding of things like 80k’s arguments for why a particular problem or career path might be important, and that what I’ve felt unsure about is just how 80k decides what to look into in the first place.

Also, since the matter of accidental harm was raised a few times, I’ll also mention this collection I made of sources relevant to that, and my collections of sources on the related matters of the unilateralist’s curse, information hazards, and differential progress.
Thanks for this feedback (and for the links)!
