[Question] Donation swap before EOFY?

Time-sensitive: I’m hoping to arrange this before June 30. Inspired by Mitchell Laughlin and Adam.Kruger’s donation swap post. Kudos to Claude for writing this.

I’m an Australian taxpayer hoping to donate ~AU$6,500 (~US$4,500 / £3,400 / €3,900) to the Effective Altruism Animal Welfare Fund (AWF), which isn’t tax-deductible in Australia.

I’m looking to swap with someone in a country where the AWF is deductible (e.g., US, UK, Netherlands) and who’s planning to donate a few thousand dollars to charities that are already tax deductible in Australia (all GiveWell-recommended charities).

We each donate to the other’s preferred charity but can both get the tax benefit.

Australian tax-deductible charities you could donate to

All available through Effective Altruism Australia. You can pick a specific charity, or give to a GiveWell fund and let them allocate.

Top recommended charities & funds

  • Top Charities Fund (GiveWell)

  • All Grants Fund (GiveWell)

  • New Incentives

  • Malaria Consortium

  • Helen Keller International

  • Against Malaria Foundation

Other charities they support

  • Deworm the World Initiative (led by Evidence Action)

  • Unlimit Health (formerly SCI)

  • StrongMinds

  • One Acre Fund

  • Giving What We Can

  • GiveDirectly

Send me a message if you’re interested. You’ll tell me which charity / option you’d like, I’ll donate to it through EAA and you donate the equivalent to the AWF.

Thanks all!
