I strong downvoted your comment, as it reads to me as making bold claims whilst providing little supporting evidence. References to “lots of people in this area” could be considered to be a use case of the bandwagon fallacy.

In my opinion, a strong downvote is too harsh for a plausibly good faith comment with some potentially valuable criticism, even if (initially) vague.
They elaborated on some of their concerns in the replies.
You could ask them to elaborate more if they can (without deanonymizing people without their consent) on specific issues instead of strong downvoting.
