Thanks for sharing this! I don’t think we have enough knowledge about the way experts in relevant fields (with no EA experience) react to some of the more unusual causes promoted by EA-aligned organizations. Studies like this, even with limited sample size, seem useful.
If anyone seeing this comment read the summary and found it at least mildly interesting, I recommend at least skimming through the full paper so that you can see quotes from the qualitative interviews. Those quotes capture elements of the interviewees’ thinking that are difficult to summarize.
