NZ: You’ve probably already thought of this, but you should reach out to New Zealand EA! I know a couple of people in the NZ EA community — DM me if you’d like to be put in touch.
LAW: You could also reach out to the Legal Priorities Project for connections with the EA & Law community. SLEA and HLSEA are two other options.
OPEN QUESTIONS: A lot of your “Open Questions” seem like (with a little tweaking) pretty good questions for forecasting, like the type on Metaculus or INFER. At a minimum, you could post a few markets on Manifold, but you could also go bigger and get decision-relevant info from other platforms. Let me know if you want more help with this — forecasting as a field can seem a lot more intimidating than it actually is!
OTHER/EVERYTHING: You can/should post on the EA Groups Slack and the EA Anywhere Slack (if appropriate). They each have channel(s) dedicated to “opportunities” or “careers” or “resources” etc.
Hope I could help! Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with — can’t wait to see y’all at EAG London :)
Thanks a lot for your super valuable suggestions! Connections with NZ EA community would be very useful. I have already drafted a question for Metaculus, but I’m very new to forecasting. I will DM you to discuss more :)
Further to Saul’s suggestions, SAFE and New Zealand Anti-Vivisection Society (NZAVS) are strong national organisations which work in influencing animal welfare policy. I have some connections to both organisations if you need a link.
The New Zealand Animal Law Association (NZALA) is also a good organisation to connect with. I understand that NZALA often works with SAFE.
My first suggestion would be to sync up with Animals Aotearoa which are an EA aligned, EA Animal Welfare funds funded org.
[I used to be involved in Animal Advocacy work in NZ (and in EA NZ) - I’m now in the UK, but I still have contacts and can intro you to some folk. Let’s talk at EAG London if not before].
This is something people won’t know unless they were in the CE cohort/office, but Mandy and Rainer are an exceptionally productive pair. This charity is in great hands!
A very promising intervention and I am so excited that you decided to found it (I am also very biased as I work for CE :) ). Thanks for taking the challenge and I wish you a quick success! With your combined experience and high focus on impact, I am really hoping you will change the import situation not only in New Zeland. Best of luck!
So excited for this, congratulations! Rainer and Mandy are truly amazing. I was in the incubation program with them, and I have worked and interacted with both of them enough to say that they are an exceptional pair and quite skilled. Really looking forward to this!
This looks awesome! Congrats on everything :D

Hi Catherine!
Thanks! We actually have been in touch with Animals Aotearoa already :) But I will DM you for NZ contacts!
