I note that this is a discussion about a view which we have essentially one person arguing for and already many people arguing against, and so in the interests of not burning Ian out, I suggest pro-status-quo people put more effort than usual into being concise, and perhaps consider letting existing threads play out a little before adding more balls to be juggled :)
I realise this might come across as patronising or unwelcoming or something. There’s an unfortunate social norm that “organizational” often correlates with “authoritative”. I explicitly disclaim authority on this matter, just trying to make some commons less tragic.

I’m not getting burned out, but I am getting a little frustrated that some of my more substantive responses and clarifications are getting spread out across multiple threads when it would be easier for everyone if they were collected in one place. Not sure if you have any suggestions for that...maybe I could update the OP?
