[Question] What are some of the best EA-related workshops you’re aware of?

Hello everyone! I am currently the group organiser for a university group, and we have a retreat coming up. We have some blank spots on our schedule and would like to fill them with valuable activities, preferably workshops that can be delivered in an hour. The prior involvement of attendees will be mixed, and we’ll already be covering several topics (see below). We would appreciate your help in suggesting more workshops or activities!

Context:

  • Mixed level of EA involvement among attendees (some will have only done an introductory fellowship, but many will have done more than that, e.g. attended EAGs, delivered workshops or facilitated fellowships themselves)

  • Existing topics we’ll be covering: Bayesian updating, framing community building, career planning from aptitudes, self-learning, plus an AI Safety watch party on one of the evenings

Helpful answers to this question could include:

  • A link to or description of any workshop you’ve participated in relating to EA topics (meta or cause area specific, in particular AI safety would be cool) or rationality that you found memorable/valuable or led you to change your mind about something important

  • A link to or description of a workshop you’ve run that you’ve received positive feedback on in the past

  • Other activities that might not fit the descriptions above but still seem really valuable to do on a retreat

  • If anyone knows of a well-planned existing workshop that aims to have participants think up and plan to take action on impactful projects suitable for students, that would be swell—our academic calendar is a little annoying and means that summer is a really good time to work on anything extracurricular, so this retreat would be ideal for planning something like this.

Please have a low bar for answering (as I’ll be doing my due diligence and assessing any potential workshops/activities for suitability for this specific retreat)! It’d also just be nice to see what people have enjoyed or found useful, generally. Thank you!
